Happy 4th of July!
Joel and I
Caught in the act!
Casey our basketball star!
"Camden at the Bat"
Oregon
What a peaceful creek...
What a beautiful backpacker!
What an amazing waterfall!!!!!!!!
Well, I thought it was high time I changed the main picture, and get rid of my mug! Yes, it only shows two out of our five kids, but hey, they'll just all have to take turns being the "star".
I'm just trying to think back a few weeks, and fill you in on what goes on at our house. When I say there's NEVER a dull moment at our house, I honestly mean it! Now that Casey is fully potty trained (yes, that means not even a diaper at night for either one of them) Miracles do happen!! Anyways, I asked Casey to get his underwear back on, and he led me upstairs to get new underwear on....hmmm, where is the underwear you had on? I asked him. He preceeds to tell me that he FLUSHED them down the toilet. That was not the answer I wanted to hear, "What do you mean, you flushed them down the toilet?!!!" Apparently he thought since they were dirty, he would do that. Good grief! After the incident of mommy's wedding ring having that same sad fate of going down the toilet, I thought we made ourselves very clear not to ever flush anything else again, without asking. Oh, well, life goes on- as usual. :)
This was the first year in several years, that we have been here for the 4th. Last year we were in San Diego, and the past couple of years before that, we were in Prescott. Ashleigh was gone camping and so the rest of us went to the park, to let the kids get wet and then about an hour and a half before the fireworks started we got all settled and started passing out snacks. Licorice, gummy worms, and the best watermelon I've had in a long time! The show itself wasn't that great, just ok. It was so easy to get out of there afterwards though, and that in itself made it worth it!
Ashleigh came home the next day and got ready for her big trip to Oregon. The last time she had been on an airplane was when I took her to Florida over 11 years ago! She kept very busy, hiking, bowling, going to a lava cave, going to a museum and shopping! It was a good experience for her to go and do that. She loved coming home though and really apreciated her family! (Honest!)
That's always great to know!
School will be starting August 3rd for our kids this year, which is right around the corner. I think there school is great and I'm very thankful we are able to send them there on a variance.
Well, I better go...Casey wants to play "library" with Mommy. :)
