Joel and I had anniversary number 11 yesterday, and had the rare pleasure of getting time to be alone together for 23 hours and 11 minutes, or at least something like that. My dad offered to stay with our crew about a month ago, and I thought it would be rude to say no in all, so DONE! It was simple, but a beautiful time spent remembering why we love each other so much and how Joel can't live without me!
We went to the Point Tapitio Cliffs and were in the presidential suite, thank you very much-you did great honey! As we entered the room, the champaigne was chilling on the table for us, still wondering why there was no mints on our pillow. We were on the top floor, and had a fantastic view, especially at night with all of the city lights...if you have ever flown and landed at night, you know just how awesome it is.
Anyways, he asked me where I wanted to eat, and so, I chose the Old Spaghetti Factory down on Central. If you have never been there, it is a neat place to go for ambiance...it has a trolley car in the restaraunt and alot of vintage pictures and decor. The last time we were there, was before we were married and so I thought it would be something different and fun!
I have been pretty dedicated to my Wii fit, as of late and eating low carb torillas and grilled chicken almost everyday can get a bit mondane. So, I had NO problem eating rather piglike..... bread and lasagna, and more bread, and some dessert-heck yeah! We went back to the resort and decided to go down to the pool and hot tub for a while and that was nice.
We decided to go out on our balcony and sip our nicely chilled champaigne, talk, and open our cards. How nice to just enjoy each other's company. After that, well gee- what do most married couples do?!
This morning, we had our breakfast, which was all part of the romance package he had booked.....we both opted for the french toast, and it was yummy. Our time was coming to an end, but every minute of it was wonderful and as Joel already reminded me, each year of being married, is like wine-Each year is better than the next. Not that the previous year was bad in any way, but sharing new experiences with your spouse, only draws you that much closer to each other!
I am so grateful for the wonderful, handsome husband that I have been given, and I always will be!

Mixed Emotions
I know for most of us, our kids our now finished with school, and we ask the typical question...Where did the year go? Well, let's see, let's not forget the shuttling, & the projects (Oh, I need that by tomorrow) and the field trip permission slip that needs to be signed, and there's pictures tomorrow, basketball games, and can I have whoever spend the night on Friday? Can I go to the dance? I'll need money for food too ya know......That in a nut shell was most of how this school year went between our three older ones. I sound like I'm complaining, I'm really not, I would go crazy if there wasn't the business that comes with having kids, and things that need to be done! Coming to an end of another school year is great for the kids and sad at the same time, especially for Ashleigh. Our little girl will now be a freshman next August. Which highschool she will attend is still up in the air, due to me trying to get her into Ver. on a variance. As of right now, there is no room, but she is third on the waiting list-so, we will just trust that she will end up going to the right h.s. she's supposed to be at.
As she graduated last Thursday, I couldn't help but selfishly feel a bit sad when she left to go with her grandparents for lunch and spend the night. It was honestly a weird feeling of emptiness, seeing her graduation dress hanging in her room and knowing that a small chapter of her life was coming to a close. I know, get a life! Right?! When I had Ashleigh, the thought of raising a baby until adulthood seemed so overwhelming and FOREVER, how wrong I was!
How smart, beautiful, kind, unselfish, & funny she is-We are very proud of her!
