Our Mornings

I don't know what it's like at your house in the mornings, but it seems like there's is always a very NARROW window to get us all out the door by 7:30 (that's our goal). I do try to get things somewhat organized the night before, but it always seems to be something that makes it a crazy morning.
The older kids wake up....no problem. Of course they do go straight to the tv and I have to remind them that it would be great if they could get dressed and do there hair. (Now, Ashleigh doesn't have that problem, that girl always looks nice in the morning-BUT her getting ready routine takes forever!)
Now that it's darker and somewhat chillier in the mornings, I have to gently go into the twins' bedroom and wake them up. I thought Cam was done sucking his thumb, well apparently that's not totally the case. I found him curnled up like a little baby this morning, sucking his thumb and holding his blanket. They are babies still, yet they aren't!
Sometimes, I end up being the last one to the van! Yep, mom needs to put in high gear too!
Well, this week is almost over with, and on to Thanksgiving next week :)

Camden, finally eating...picking out cereal can take a while! :)
 Casey ready for school!
Keeps us smiling!

I guess he had time to play a quick song....

Camden showing me one of his papers.

I let her back up the car and go in our cul de sac. "Did I do good, Mom?"

Russell's In The ROARING 20's

I kept Casey home from school, because he was still running a fever from the day before. I felt really bad, because quite honestly, I think Halloween is like the twins' favorite "holiday."  They look forward to it all year long!
We opted not to buy costumes this year, and try to put our creative skills to work a little bit. I thought of the idea of having Mikaila be a flapper, and the boys dressed as gangsters from that era. I had no idea how we would pull off a flapper dress, without possibly borrowing one from someone-no luck there. I looked in my closet and thought that a layered top, and a black layered ruffled skirt might work. "Mikaila, come try this on real quick!" I thought it definately would work for what we needed it for. The boys had suits in their closets (one was Quinn's from Grandma Donna's wedding, and was actually being stored amongst all of the other "memories"  in bins). A few accessories from the dollar store, and that was the extent of our expenditures this Halloween. Which to me, makes way more sense then spending $60.00 on three costumes that they probably won't fit into a year from now anyways, nor would they have any desire to where!
Quinn asked us if he could go hang out at a friend's house, while we were out trick or treating and Ashleigh was also with a friend. She spent the night over there afterwards. Yes, I know what nice parents she has-letting her stay somewhere on a school night!
Quinn apparently shoved some dress clothes in a bag (which I didn't realize) in case him and his friend went trick or treating at a few houses. When someone asked him what he was dressed up as, he said, "A Salsa instructor!" I started cracking up when he told me! Had I known he was going to go around and hit some houses for candy, we would have come up with a costume for him too-silly boy!
Another fun, and successful Halloween!!

Happy Halloween! Camden let Mikaila carve his little pumpkin he got from school.
No bootleggin, just candy grabbin' gangsters!
